See your Ancestor’s or Regiment’s participation in the Civil War with a customized Map

We make personalized maps which will show:

• Battles your Ancestor fought in.
• Places he was.
• Other battles and skirmishes that occurred during his time of service.
• Narrative of his service if desired.

Maps are based on the National Park Service on-line database of Civil War Soldiers and Regiments and other on-line sources. Additional details can be incorporated if you provide them. We work with you to get the map you want.

Maps are priced from $60 depending on the extent and availability of data. Additional charges may apply if book research is necessary, if the soldier’s career was complicated, or if changes from our basic format are requested. Other options are available. See Order Form.

Explanation of Order Form:

Your Basics are required so that we may contact you while we are working on the map and when it is finished. Required fields are Name, Address, City ST Zip, e-mail address, and Phone number.

Soldier's Basics is the information we need to find the information about your soldier.
Name: enter his full name and any possible alternate spellings.
Dates of Service: enter the date he enlisted and the date his service ended whether by discharge, death, wounding, or other reason.
Regiment details: be as specific as possible about the regiment(s) he served in, including company if known.

You have the option of having the narrative of his service printed on the map and a legend printed on the map. Please select one or the other, or both, or neither. There is no charge for any of these options. Please check the appropriate boxes or leave blank.

Maps will be printed on 13x19 inch matte photo paper using fonts and formats as in the samples. This is our default. If you desire a different paper please specify on the reverse of the order form. Additional charges may apply.

Basic Charge for an ordinary soldier $60
This is our base price for drawing any custom map.

Additional charge for Confederate research ($10)
Data for the maps is extracted from the National Park Service on-line database of Civil War soldiers and regiments. This data is complete for Union regiments but less so for Confederate regiments. Additional book research will be done in the Compendium of the Confederacy by ??? to establish more details about service.

Additional charge for service in multiple Regiments ($15 each)
If your soldier served in more than one regiment additional research is required to establish these details.

Discount if you provide the narrative details in a text file ($-10)
If you provide a text file this will save us the trouble of doing the research ourselves.

Laminating ($10) for standard size

Printing larger than 13x19 (price varies with size up to 48")
We can have your map printed on paper larger than 13x19 inches but be advised that we do not do this ourselves and will have to get a separate quote.

Framing (price varies with size and quality)
We can have your map framed but be advised that we do not do this ourselves and will have to get a separate quote. If you want it framed it may be best if you have this done on your own.
